1992年から2004年にかけてリリースされたR&Bとソウルのヒット曲の解釈からなるニューアルバム『COOKUP』が〈Nonesuch Records〉からリリース。2020年の〈Nonesuch〉デビュー作『Satin Doll』と同様、Gendelは友人でありコラボレーターでもあるGabe NoelとPhilippe Melansonと共に『COOKUP』を故郷カリフォルニアで録音。Ginuwine、112、Aaliyah、All-4-One、Soul 4 Real、Beyoncé、Joe、Erykah Badu、Mario、SWV、Boyz II Menの楽曲などのアルバム音源の同時同期による音の構成/解体のアプローチで挑んだ大変意欲的なアルバム！
